ART

Some of this artwork I created long before the individual books that the images may be representative of were ever written.  In the case of The Godlings, I drew Noc, Evie, Turney and the gang hundreds of times before finishing the novel that would be Petty Like A God.  Much of the artwork created for In Bleed Country was done while I was writing the book, but the images for The Artisan and The Armada Of Sensation had been sketched out numerous times.  Some art was done for Fragments Of Ruin, but not much.  Each illustration for the five stories found in Further Than Fate was done after the entire book had been completed.

My style is illustrative, obviously influenced by all those many years I had a $20 a week comic book addiction in my teens.  I find that it fits with the type of stories that I tell, my bizarre blend of Horror and Urban Fantasy.  I simply sketch out the ideas using 0.5HB mechanical pencils on bristol paper, later inking it into greater detail with a set of 0.8 to 0.005 Microns and an assortment of Sharpies.  Any final cleaning is done during the scanning process.

Ocassionally, I'll work in a more digital medium and attempt to create images that are more closely related to my sense of dark sarcasm.  These are usually used as promotional pieces, compositions just littered about the internet to get the stories out.  Sometimes I use pre-existing illustrations, but often I try to create them solely in the programs.

In any case, here is a selection of the artwork I've created over the last few years to aid my stories.  I hope you dig 'em...
